If any team is benefiting from the re-alignment of the conferences it is Dover. Dover, which is a small Group 2 school, has spent the last decade battling it out with much larger football schools like Par Hills, Mendham and West Essex. Now, by being in the Independence Division of the NJAC, the Tigers are playing opponents that are much more equal in size.

Head coach Mike White, coming off a 1-8 season, is destined to bring Tiger pride back to Dover. White was a former player in the early 90’s when Dover was one of the most feared teams in the Iron Hills Conference.

White is also an innovative defensive guru. Before this head coaching job, White was the tactical genius that helped Mendham to have one of the best defensive strategies around.

OFFENSE

Offensively the Tigers will be lead by their 6’2”, 170lb senior gun slinger Cody Spellmon. Spellmon will throw to his 6’, 156lb senior wideout Anthony Oraegui. Taking a lot of the load in the running game will be the shifty Bryan Chavarriaga (5’9”, 185lb).

DEFENSE

On the other side of the ball, the Tigers are headed by their 6’3”, 270lb senior defensive end Miles Singletary. On the other side of the line, Singletary is joined by 6’2”, 195lb fellow senior defensive end Dan Harris. At defensive back, senior Lennyn Quicena (5’8”, 175lbs) will be playing centerfield.
