The 2009 Hanover Park football season is almost underway and the Hornets are looking forward to showcasing their typical hard-nosed style of playing. This year’s team brings a mixture of experienced braun on the line and talented position players.

Head coach Dan Gregory is known for delivering a feisty, hard hitting brand of football which he will be bringing to mostly new opponents in the new Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference. The only familiar teams on the schedule this year are Parsippany and Chatham, the other seven opponents are all new.

“We are looking forward to the new match-ups.” Assistant coach Gerry Moore said. “We really don’t know much about these teams so it will be interesting how it all plays out.”

OFFENSE

Offensively, it all starts with the guys up front for the Hornets. This is an experienced line that has the beef to knock any team off the ball and technique to create explosive holes for its running backs. Rounding off the lineman are senior Casey Ciaston (6’1”, 200lbs), senior Rich DeAngelo (6’, 295lbs), senior Jim DeRosa (6’, 215lbs), senior Dante Casolaro ( 5’,8”, 200lbs), senior Mike Lomio (5’7”, 195lbs), senior Nick Malrechauffe (6’, 185lbs) and junior Nick Melillo ( 5’9”, 230lbs).
