If there is a team that can bounce back from a 3-7 season it is the 2009 Madison Dodgers. This Dodger squad is a veteran bunch that has a lot of depth at the skill positions and strong horses on both sides of the lines.

“I like our chances right now.” Coach Chris Kubik said of this year’s team. “I feel we have a good group of guys. We have a lot of really good leaders with solid playing experience on our team.  That is a good thing to have.”

OFFENSE

Offensively the Dodgers are lead by junior quarterback Matt McHale who transferred from Seton Hall Prep after his freshman year. McHale is a strong 6’2” athletic type who seems to have already settled into the leadership role.

Running the ball will be a mixture of talent. Senior Jimmy Mattina is one of the most well rounded athletes of the bunch and will likely get a lot of carries. He will be joined by fellow senior Christian Mazzocchi who got a lot of experience as a junior.

Also rotating in the back field will be senior Bryan Castano, junior Colin McLinden and sophomore Dilan Kluge. Another guy who might get some varsity carries is the super fast freshman Justin Goodwin who might already be the fastest player on the team.

At fullback, senior Rob Savacool and junior Spencer Waresk will be getting the short yardage carriers and opening holes for the halfbacks.
