If any team was hit hard by the new conference realignment it is the 2009 Morris Hills Scarlet Knights. The small Group 2 school will be forced to play larger schools like Morris Knolls, West Morris, Sparta and Par Hills. But this does not mean head coach Mike Sabo will not be up for the challenge. Coach Sabo has a reputation for putting together a hard nosed, throwback type of football team. It seems this 2009 Scarlet Knights team epitomizes that. “We have been very pleased with how hard these guys have been working.” Sabo said of his squad. “These guys have been doing everything we ask of them and more.” Sabo’s Scarlet Knights schedule will be loaded with Group 3 and Group 4 opponents so they will be tested all year long. Starting off the season will be on September 12th, when they rekindle their rivalry with cross town opponent the Morris Knolls Golden Eagles and their legendary coach Bill Regan. “This game is really great for our community. We know that program very well and have the utmost respect for Coach Regan and what he does.” Sabo said about the first game on his schedule. OFFENSE Offensively the Scarlet Knights will start senior Willie Rzucidlo (5’10”, 165lbs) at the helm. This is Rzucidlo’s first season as starting varsity quarterback but he will have plenty of weapons in his arsenal. His biggest gun is the 5’9”, 165lb senior wideout Azem Koliq.
