When Ed Kopp took over as Head Coach of Pequannock football, one thing he set out to do was rebuild from the inside out. It began with a new positive attitude and a strong commitment by all the players and coaches. After three disappointing seasons, Coach Kopp's team is ready to benefit from all their hard work. On paper, it looks like this is Pequannock’s year. They open this season against three teams that had a combined five wins last season. But Kopp quickly warns that other teams are most likely thinking the same thing. “If you take a look at the records of the teams in this small school conference that we have coming up, I would probably agree with (the fact that they have a favorable schedule), however the other teams that are in our conference are thinking the same way about us.” Kopp explained. “I would say it’s a fairly even playing field and we’re just hoping to come in compete and play our game.” OFFENSE The Golden Panthers run a Multiple I offense that features senior runningback Joe Ruggiero. Ruggiero is an explosive runner that is capable of making plays even after a play has broken down. |
