The fans at John F. Bauer Memorial Stadium were treated to a thrilling double overtime victory by the Randolph Rams over the Mendham Minutemen 20-14. To cap it off, it was Randolph High School’s Senior Night as well, and senior quarterback Kevin Farrell took matters into his own hands. During the second overtime period, he pulled off a 20 yard run on a keeper to set up the winning touchdown and uplifting ending to the Randolph football season. Although the temperature was near freezing, the fans stayed until the bitter end and basked in the warm glow of a hard fought seesaw victory. At first things went smoothly for the Rams. Their first possession set the theme for the night, with plenty of rushes supplied by the Ram’s triple threat runningbacks, juniors Mike Mastrangelo and John Yachmetz, and sophomore AJ Garcia. Then Farrell mixed things up and hit Garcia on a 13 yard touchdown pass, to culminate the 9 play drive. Colin Bahor’s kick put Randolph ahead 7-0 with 6:03 on the clock. |

On a soggy Friday night at John F. Bauer Memorial Stadium, the West Morris Central Wolfpack seemed to run the ball at will and proceeded to rain all over the Randolph Ram’s Homecoming parade by a score of 29-7. Upon receiving the opening kickoff, the Wolfpack’s senior quarterback Mark Rosenbaum went to work and engineered a 10 play, 60 yard touchdown drive that ate up 5:30 from the clock. He mixed runs from sophomore Dan Mazzei, junior Shane Thompson, and All Everything senior runningback Mike Burton to achieve maximum results as the drive culminated in a Burton 12 yard paydirt romp that put West Morris ahead 6-0. The rushing game was the theme of the night for the West Morris, who didn’t bother to attempt a pass until the game’s third quarter. With conditions slippery and sloppy on the rain soaked turf, it only made sense to keep the ball on the ground. With 5:40 remaining in the first half, Burton found his way into the end zone again for the Wolfpack, this time on a 6 yard run. Later on, Connor Young missed a 25 yard field goal attempt and the first half ended with West Morris leading Randolph 12-0. The Wolfpack defense was relentless and constantly pressured Ram senior quarterback Kevin Farrell. Whether they were disrupting pass plays or tackling runners behind the line of scrimmage, senior defensive end Herb Skinner (who had 2 sacks on the night), senior defensive tackle Chris Truglio, and senior defensive end Dylan D’Alessio spent the night in the R ...Read More |

Enter your body text here.On a cool, crisp Friday night game at John J. Bauer Memorial Field in Randolph, the Delbarton Green Wave defeated the Randolph Rams 27-0. The Delbarton defensive onslaught was constant and devastating, and this night, the Green Wave was truly a tsunami. Their defensive dominance gave Delbarton a third straight win. They amassed 10 sacks and gave up only 4 first downs during the entire game, allowing the Rams less than 100 yards of total offense. The first quarter started out with both teams coming up short on several drives, but even early on, the central theme of Randolph’s senior quarterback Kevin Farrell scrambling for his freedom was established. Green Wave senior defensive end Derek Flitcroft sacked Farrell for an 8 yard loss on only the second play from scrimmage, and he continued to dominate the game for the Delbarton defensive tsunami. By game’s end, Flitcroft had logged 11 tackles and 4 quarterback sacks. With less than a minute to go in the first quarter, with the ball on the Ram’s own 27 yardline, the scrambling Farrell let fly with a pass to midfield that was tapped up by speedy, solid junior receiver Tyler Healey and picked off for an interception by Delbarton’s sophomore linebacker Dennis Bencsko and nicely returned all the way down to inside the Randolph 10 yardline. Delbarton’s leader and senior quarterback E.J. Schneider flipped a 4 yard touchdown pass to senior running back Joe Petrucci, and the score was 6-0 in ...Read More |

It was a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon football game at Morris Knolls with sun shining and the visiting Randolph Rams looking like they were ready to play. The Rams had Morris Knolls to the wire, but the Golden Eagles ultimately took over and finished with a 19-12 victory on their home turf. With 43 seconds left to go in the first half, the Rams led the Golden Eagles 12-0, and were punting the ball out of their own end zone. Little did they know they were about to experience the game’s big play, causing a monumental momentum shift that would carry through from that very moment until the end of the game. The Ram punt shanked off of the side of the kicker’s foot and sputtered on a bounce to the four-yard line where it was picked up and ran in for a quick, merciless touchdown by sure-handed junior end CJ Abrahamsen. The score was then 12-6; the tide shifted completely going into the second half. Before the big play, it looked as the Rams were well on their way to avenging last year’s home-field loss to these same Golden Eagles. The first half featured two solid drives, engineered by junior quarterback Chris Westenhiser. On their first possession, the Rams mixed nice runs by senior runningback Jake Ronchi with passes to junior receiver Tyler Healey and senior runningback Mike Santamaria. The PAT was missed, but the Rams had scored first and the first quarter ended with them ahead 6-0. Midway through the second quarter, the surging Rams blocked a Gold ...Read More |
