The Whippany Park Wildcats football team enters the 2009 football season coming off an off season of hard work and tough training to prepare them for the new NJAC Conference. The Wildcats are hungry to build on last years 3-6 season with second year head coach Ron Rowe at the helm.

“We really focused on training and off season preparation in this summer.” Coach Rowe said of his team. “These guys got stronger. The summer was very good. We had a speed school come to our school and the guys really took to it.”

Coach Rowe, who was a long time assistant at football powerhouse West Essex, is not satisfied with last year’s record. “We don’t make excuses. We did have an uncanny amount of injuries last season. But this year we have a very good solid bunch of kids and I think we will do a lot better than last season if we stay healthy.”

OFFENSE

Taking the reigns for the Wildcats will be senior quarterback Pasquale LaBracio (6’, 162lbs). LaBracio started last year and brings experience and leadership to this Whippany Park team.

LaBracio will target his 6’2”, 155lb senior wideout David Armstrong and senior receiver Ricky Hakes (5’10”, 150lbs). Getting carriers from the fullback position is senior Michael Jennings (5’10”, 172lbs).

On the line, Coach Rowe expects big things from Donyell Bourgeios. Bourgeios is only a sophomore by stands 6’1”, 215lbs and is extremely explosive off the ball.
